(Atlantic) The Atlantic School Board held a brief meeting Wednesday evening.
Following a presentation from the English Language Learners staff, the school board approved the following items:
-An employee handbook change with clarifying language informing employees that insurance is offered.
-A bid from Wilson Restaurant Supply for the nutrition department to purchase a new hot well.
-An overnight trip to Indianapolis for the Atlantic FFA.
-New hires:
Matt Jacobsen, Substitute Bus Driver
Marcella Peck, Preschool Bus Monitor
Felicity Swanson, Special Education Paraprofessional (replacing Lynnae Grandin)
Volunteer Coaches for Winter Sports
-Resignation of Makenna Askeland, Middle School Softball Assistant Coach
The Atlantic School Board has two more town hall meetings scheduled prior to the November 4th election: October 29th from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Washington Elementary School and October 30th from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Middle School Media Center.
The School Board’s next regular meeting is November 12th at 6:30 p.m. A special organizational meeting will be held November 18th at 6:30 p.m. to swear in the new board members.
