(Shenandoah) The Harlan girls’ cross country team had a strong performance at the Hawkeye Ten Cross Country Meet, held at the Shenandoah High School Cross Country Course on Thursday. They placed two runners in the top five and scored a total of 53 points, ultimately capturing the team title. Ashlyn Rau finished fourth, and Julia Heslink took fifth place. Aspen Bieker came in 15th, followed by Josie Sunderman in 18th and Ava Freund in 22nd place. Additionally, Allie Anderson finished 23rd, and Sadie Alberti came in 33rd.
Glenwood finished second with 65 Points, led by Grace Berglund’s second-place finish. Caitlin Hebel finished seventh, Megan Hughes 16th, Haylee Hughes 25th, Katelyn Harms 26th, Maggie McChesney 29th, and Breelyn Houser 31st.
Atlantic ran well and finished third with 88 points. Katrina Williams finished 11th overall, Kaitlyn Hickman, 13th, Gabrielle Engler, 19th, Ximena Mendez-Cordero, 28th, Bella Brock, 30th, Leighton Wailes, 35th, and Henley, Coffman, 50th.
Lili Denton of St. Albert captured the individual title and stayed undefeated on the season with a time of 18.15.63.
