(Shenandoah) The Red Oak Boys’ Cross Country Team won the Hawkeye Ten Conference Team Title with a total of 71 points on Thursday at the Shenandoah High School Cross Country Course. Lewis Central finished in a close second place with 73 points.
The Tigers had two runners finish in the top ten: Emmanuel Grass came in third, and Hayden Heithbrink finished sixth. Other notable finishes included Osiel Pedersen in 12th, Casey Johnson in 21st, Bryce Williams in 29th, Manuel DeLeon in 21st, and Cale Hall in 74th place. Red Oak Head Coach Sueann French was thrilled with the team’s performance.
Emmanuel Grass toured the course in an impressive time of 16:24.98
Kevin Coots and Evan Lillie finished first and second for Lewis Central. Coots ran an impressive 16:02.25. Lillie ran 16:23.52. Joey Mazzella finished 15th, Dane Thomsen, 25th, Beran Stroup, 30th, Carter Lobaugh, 31st, and Marcus Greenwood finished in 58th place.
Kuemper finished third in the meet, led by Dayton Wiederien’s eighth-place showing. Fletch Badding finished 16th, Wyatt Wunschel, 28th, Hayden Krieger, 34th, Oliver Vonnahme, 36th, Thomas Pottebaum, 54th, and Kohen Stypa, 55th.
Atlantic finished in ninth place in the meet. Mason Betts continues to shine for the Trojans. Betts finished in fifth place in a time of 16:48.15.
Others for Atlantic were Thomas Engler, 31st; Anthony Akers, 40th; Kouper Kinney, 42nd; Caleb Andersen, 49th; Nolyn Kinney, 56th; and Preston Williams, 67th. Atlantic Head Coach Dan Vargason.
