(Shelby Co) A man charged with First Degree Murder in Shelby County has entered a plea of guilty.
Winston Joseph Leal was charged for the death of 32-year-old Theresa Kenkel. Trial was originally scheduled to begin November 4th, but sentencing is now set for October 29th.
Ashley McWilliams, who was charged with Accessory After the Fact, has also pleaded guilty. Her sentencing date is November 17th.
The charges stem from an incident on Thursday, July 31, when the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check at 204 2nd Avenue in Earling. Deputies entered the residence and discovered Kenkel deceased inside.
