(West Des Moines, IA) — The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union have released the regional volleyball pairings so now every team knows the path they will have to take to get to Coralville for the state tournament.
Atlantic is in Class 3A, Region 4 and will host Shenandoah on Tuesday, October 21 — the winner will face either the #1 seed in the region Red Oak or Clarke Community. The other first round matches in the region are Chariton at Clarinda and Centerville at Creston. Regional Semifinals will be on Thursday, October 23 and the Regional Finals are on Tuesday, October 28.
In Class 2A, Dike New Hartford is the #1 seed in Region 2 and will play the winner of Panorama and South Central Calhoun. Treynor is the #2 seed in the region and has a bye, playing the winner of MVAOCOU hosting Logan Magnolia. First round games are Monday, October 20 with 2nd round action on Wednesday, October 22.
In 2A, Region 4, Grundy Center is the #1 seed and Woodward Granger is #2. W-G will play either Nodaway Valley or West Central Valley in Stuart. The winner of those three teams will play either AHSTW or AC/GC to be played in Guthrie Center on Oct. 22.
Riverside is the #1 seed in 2A, Region 7 and will play the winner of Underwood at Southwest Valley. Missouri Valley visits Tri Center also in the upper half of the Region 7 bracket. Aplington Parkersburg is the #2 seed with the Regional finals at a neutral site.
In Class 1A, Sidney is the #1 seed in Region 4 and faces the winner of Lamoni at Bedford. East Mills is the #1 seed in Region 6 and will play the winner of Lenox at Mormon Trail. St. Albert is the 2nd seed in Region 6 and faces the winner of CAM at Exira EHK. In the bottom of the Region 6 bracket, Heartland Christian visits Audubon and plays the winner of Griswold at Woodbine.
