(Oakland, IA) — Darrell Frain of Riverside has been named the Southwest District High School Athletic Director of the Year by the IHSADA.
Frain has been with the Riverside Bulldogs since 2018 — he is a native of Creston, IA but went to Carson-Macedonia High School which has now become part of the Riverside school district.
Frain coached wrestling at Creston O-M for 18 years and also was the assistant football coach and boys soccer head coach for the Panthers. Besides his job as AD at Riverside, he is also the Football Head Coach and Assistant Softball Coach.
Frain will now be running for the 2025-26 Iowa High School Athletic Director of the Year Award, which will be decided in December.
He will compete against winners from the five districts across the state (Northwest, Southeast, Southwest, Central, and Northeast).
