(New Market) Saturday, at 3:59 p.m., the Villisca Fire Department was dispatched for Mutual Aid assistance to 200th/ Badger Ave just north of New Market for a large field fire.
New Market FD, Clarinda FD, Bedford FD, and Villisca FD’s responded.
The fire was primarily contained to the field of origin.
Officials would like to thank the responding farmers which provided multiple tractors and disks which greatly assisted in stopping the spread of the fire.
