(Lyon Co.) A two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Lyon County left one man dead and another injured, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The accident happened at 2:23 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 9 and Indian Avenue. Authorities say 28-year-old Matthew Wieber, of Benson, Minnesota, was driving a 2016 Peterbilt semi southbound on Indian Avenue when it struck a 2015 Dodge Ram traveling eastbound on Highway 9.
The driver of the Dodge Ram, 64-year-old Steven Cuperus of George, Iowa, was killed in the collision. Wieber was transported by Lyon County Ambulance to Avera Hospital with injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
