(Grimes) If you use the Northeast Mixmaster to reach Interstate 235 you need to be aware of two upcoming ramp closures that may slow down your trip.
Crews from the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Grimes Construction office will be closing the ramp from westbound I-80 to westbound I-235 and the eastbound I-235 ramp to westbound I-80 on Monday, Oct. 6, weather permitting, so concrete can be poured for a new sign truss.
During these closures, westbound I-80 traffic wanting to reach westbound I-235 will exit at U.S. 69/Northeast 14th Street (exit 136) and then get back onto eastbound I-80/I-35 to reach westbound I-235.
Eastbound I-235 traffic wanting to reach westbound I-80/I-35 will travel north on I-35 and exit at Corporate Woods Drive (exit 89), turn south onto southbound I-35, then turn onto westbound I-80 (exit 137A) at the Northeast Mixmaster.
