(Treynor) The Treynor Cardinals are hitting their stride as they head into week six of the high school football season. Riding a three-game winning streak, the team most recently dominated Underwood with a 37-12 victory last Friday night.
Head Coach Jeff Casey credits the recent success to the team’s well-rounded play, noting that the Cardinals are starting to integrate all three phases of the game.
Quarterback Ethan Hill led the charge for Treynor, throwing for 154 yards and two touchdowns while adding 62 rushing yards and two more scores on the ground. Keatyn Dirks made the most of his opportunities, hauling in two passes for 62 yards—both for touchdowns. Jett Sornson contributed a solid ground game with 12 carries for 81 yards and a touchdown.
Head Coach Jeff Casey had high praise for his offensive line, crediting their strong play as the foundation for the Cardinals’ explosive offensive performance.
The Cardinals host Tri-Center tonight. Coach Casey reminded the team that they are playing the defending state champions, Tri-Center.
