(Perry) Perry enters week 6 of the high school football season seeking its first win. The Bluejays travel to Atlantic tonight to face (4-2) Atlantic.
Head Coach Josh Vannornam admits it’s been a challenging start for his football team this season, with many new coaches and players in new positions. Not to mention a new system in place for all three facets of the game.
The Bluejays’ running game has been a bright spot with 712 total yards anchored by Nadir Ouabi’s 93 carries for 592.
It does not get much easier for the Bluejays facing Atlantic tonight. The Trojan won their opening game over Creston 29-27 one week ago. Vannornam says they will have to be physical to have any success against the Trojans.
Jacob Cerna-Gomez leads the Bluejays on defense with 26 tackles, 18 solos, and two tackles for loss. Owen Zander, 22, Gustavo Drahos, 20, Ricky Muro, and Galivan, 17.5 each, and Nadir Ouahbi, 16.5.
The game kicks off at 7:00 p.m. We will broadcast on KS 95.7 and live-stream on WesternIowaToday.com TV and YouTube.
