(Lenox) The Lenox School District administration was informed on September 27 at approximately 7:00 p.m. that a student had allegedly made a threat toward at least one other student. The administration immediately notified the district’s School Resource Officer, consulted with the school’s attorney, and initiated an investigation into the alleged threat. The administration informed the parents of the student involved.
The initial investigation produced conflicting evidence regarding the nature and the extent of the threat. However, the school district took steps to ensure that the student who allegedly made the threat was not present on school grounds, including at the football game, any homecoming activities, or in school until the investigation was concluded. The district completed the investigation on Monday, September 29. It was confirmed, with the assistance of local law enforcement and the school’s attorney, that the threat did not pose a risk to a student’s safety.
The Lenox School District did not disclose information regarding the discipline of the person involved per school policy.
