(Guthrie Center, IA) — The Guthrie County Supervisors decided to widen a section of County Road P-28. County Engineer Josh Sebern recommended to the board to focus on widening P-28 from Stuart to Montieth Road which has a number of curves and a high amount traffic being the primary road from Interstate 80 to Panora
Sebern says that surveying of the road is being done now — the project will go to bid at the start of 2026 with an approximate start date of August 2026 and completion around October of next year. The estimated cost is around $7.9 million and most of it will be paid through grants. The rest of P-28 from Montieth to Panora will be paid through other sources.
The Supervisors voted 5-0 to approve Sebern’s recommendation.
