(Atlantic) The Atlantic girls’ tennis team’s season came to an end last Wednesday in the Regional Team Tennis Tournament. The Trojans finished the dual season with a 7-5 record.
Atlantic Head Coach Mike McDermott pointed to the leadership of the eight seniors on the squad.
Coach McDermott mentions the four senior players in the lineup, Aubrey Winford, Aunika Darrow, Shauna Anderson, and Addi Freund, who played the majority of the 150 total matches.
Juniors Jacobi Harter and Lily Willrich finished playing the number #1 and #2 singles in the lineup this past season. Harter finished the year with a record of 11-10, and Willrich went 13-7.
In Coach McDermott’s first year, the team finished with a 1-9 record, and eight girls were out for the team. This season, the roster included 25 players. McDermott thanks his coaches, Molly O’Hara, James Northwick, and Tori Brummer, for all their efforts in making this a successful season.
