(Cass Co.) Enrollment is now open for the 2025-2026 Cass County 4-H program year, and all youth in kindergarten through 12th grade can join at no cost. Thanks to generous donations to the Cass County 4-H Endowment Fund, the annual enrollment fee is fully covered for all members in Cass County.
Families are encouraged to celebrate National 4-H Week, October 5–11, by wearing green and showing support for the program. The celebration continues with the 4-H Fall Fest on Sunday, October 12, from 2–4 p.m. at the Cass County Community Building, 805 W. 10th Street in Atlantic. The free event will feature family-friendly games and activities organized by current 4-H members, with small prizes available. Visitors will also have the chance to meet County 4-H staff, volunteers, and members to learn more about the opportunities within 4-H.
Cass County currently offers five Clover Kid Groups for youth in kindergarten through third grade and 10 4-H Clubs for students in grades 4–12. Clover Kids participate in hands-on activities that build friendships and life skills, while 4-H Clubs give older youth the chance to explore new interests, develop leadership and communication skills, and give back to their communities.
Iowa 4-H operates in all 99 counties, offering dozens of project areas beyond agriculture, including entrepreneurship, engineering, child development, music, performance, and art. With the guidance of adult volunteers, 4-H members build valuable life skills such as public speaking, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and healthy lifestyle choices.
Cass County 4-H currently includes more than 300 youth and 100 volunteers. For more information or to enroll, contact the Cass County Extension Office at 712-243-1132 or visit www.extension.iastate.edu/cass.
