(Tabor, IA) — Number five ranked Audubon will have a test tonight as they visit 9th ranked Fremont Mills.
The Wheelers have outscored opponents 290-23 in their first four games. While the offense has been unstoppable, the defense has been swarming. Hayden Larsen, Izik Sorensen and Brody Weber were in the backfield all last week against CAM in a 66-0 win and held the Cougars to a net minus 23 TOTAL yards. Audubon Head Coach Sean Birks says he only used one player that went both ways on the line last week so keeping them fresh has been a priority
Fremont Mills will give Audubon some match up problems — Birks says their offense is mostly balanced but in the passing game Senior QB Sawyer Forney has a lot of guys he can throw to. Senior TE J.W. Linkenhoker has 11 catches for 194 yards and 4 TD; Senior Sam Sanchez has 7 catches for 94 yards and 3 TD; Senior Mason Reed has 8 catches for 106 yards and a TD.
Senior RB Jonathan Ekpai has been hurt and Knights Head Coach Greg Ernster says he will be a game time decision but in his place has been Sophomore Paxton Campbell who is a small package but good things come in small packages says Birks
Campbell’s role on offense has increased with the injury to Ekpai
Ernster is very impressed with Audubon’s big eaters
Forney has thrown for 589 yards with 11 TD and only 1 interception but he might have to put on his running shoes in this game says Earnster
Overall, its a non district game so it does not mean anything to qualify for the playoffs but you still have to come out and play
4-0 Audubon visits 3-1 Fremont Mills
