(Atlantic) Part of the basketball court at Sunnyside Park in Atlantic will be converted into a pickleball court.
Kevin Ferguson, Parks and Recreation Commission Chair, said pickleball is one of the most popular and fastest-growing sports in the nation, and this is something a local group has been wanting for a while.
The pickleball court is expected to be ready for play by early summer.
Ferguson recognized Parks and Recreation Coordinator Jeff Christensen and Councilman Mike McDermott for their work in making the pickleball court a reality.
Ferguson also mentioned that a ribbon cutting held in November for the solar system project at Schildberg Recreation Area.
The ribbon cutting is November 10th at 10:00 a.m. at the Schildberg Recreation Area.
