(Neola, IA) — It has been a rough stretch for the Class A defending state champions. Tri Center’s football team has lost three games in a row including their district opener last Friday 64-33 to Underwood as they go into their Homecoming week. Some players like Zach Nelson and Jayden Johnson played through their injuries last week but the Eagles had nearly 600 yards of total offense. The Trojans have also lost at OABCIG and Hinton who have great traditional programs. Tri Center’s Senior WR Cael Witt is not ready to panic yet saying they just need to find their identity
Witt was held to just 2 catches for 65 yards last week but has 29 catches for the season for 484 yards and 3 TD. He says 2024 was a completely different team — both teams have been thin in numbers but he says players were able to stay on the field last year
With players missing and with others playing hurt, Witt does not feel pressure to add more than he already is
Tri Center will play their homecoming game this Friday against Red Oak — the Tri Center Homecoming interviews will air this Friday on KSOM.
