(Oakland, IA) — Riverside Volleyball has the night off — the Bulldogs looked impressive in a 3 game sweep last Thursday against Audubon and did not play in a tournament on Saturday. Sydney Somers leads the team with 107 kills but right behind her is Lilli Reed with 92 kills and she leads the team with 38 aces. Riverside has 142 aces on the season which ranks 9th in the entire state and Reed says an ace gives the team a momentum boost
Riverside ran a 5-1 against Audubon where Bentley Rone stayed at setter the whole game and she has 194 assists but they can go to the 4-2 — Ashley Kelley has 154 assists. Reed said that Rone was on top of her setting game against the Wheelers
Riverside went to the state tournament last year but lost in the first round but this year’s team looks just as good if not better. Players are in new positions and new players are contributing like Sophomore Vivian Gross who has 55 kills, leads the team with 24 blocks; Freshman Kyeier Corum has 22 aces. Reed says its all coming together
What’s next is a trip to Tri Center this Thursday, coverage on KSOM.
