(Avoca, IA) — Two teams still in search of their first conference win will battle tonight on the volleyball court as Logan Magnolia visits AHSTW, coverage on KSOM.
The Lady Vikes are 5-15 and have lost 9 in a row but all 9 losses have come against winning programs including ranked teams like Treynor, Missouri Valley plus 1 loss Coon Rapids Bayard who somehow is not ranked. Head Coach Kelsey Fraher believes this team is improving except the Ws are not there
Junior Addison Carroll leads the offense with 112 kills plus has 105 digs on defense; Sophomore Kennedy Wyman has 70 kills and leads with 124 digs; Junior Kendra Hansen keeps everybody on the same page as the Setter with 216 assists, 105 digs and 14 aces. Fraher says she is the glue
The Lady Vikes face a Panther team tonight that just broke an 8 game losing streak by beating Ar-We-Va at a tournament hosted by Boyer Valley. Lo-Ma is led by Junior Lindsey Kastner with 87 kills and Senior Ava Sloan with 80 kills. Fraher says typically Logan Magnolia has a solid defense
Lo Ma has dealt with an injury to their starter in the middle Sophomore Alexander Kirlan who has hurt her knee — Head Coach Steve Field has also switched some other positions as he looks for the right line up and Senior Ava Sloan has shown her flexibility in that she can play anywhere Field says
Field says that AHSTW resembles his team in many ways
AHSTW 5-15 hosts Logan Magnolia 4-13, game time tonight is 7:30 pm for the first serve, coverage on KSOM.
