(Guthrie Center, IA) — The Guthrie County Supervisors are considering the widening of a road going through the southeast portion of the county.
County Road P-28 has a curvy stretch that goes between Panora and Stuart and Interstate 80. That road is now scheduled for repairs and the county has secured $8.275 million to do the project but at Tuesday’s meeting, Engineer Josh Sebern laid down the different options in whether they want to widen the whole thing, widen certain parts or leave it at a standard 22 foot wide pavement
Supervisor Chair Maggie Armstrong and Supervisor J.D. Kuster both expressed the need for safety on that stretch of road which gets a fair amount of traffic
Supervisor Brian Johnson, Kuster and Sebern will inspect the road and they plan on making a final decision on which plan to go with next week.
