(Audubon) Families in Audubon were suddenly left making new childcare arrangements after the Children’s Nest Daycare Center announced its closing.
The Center announced on Facebook last week that the director had stepped down due to unforeseen circumstances. Under Iowa Department of Health and Human Services regulations, the facility cannot operate without a qualified director.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share some difficult news,” the announcement read. “We know this sudden change places a tremendous burden on you and your family, and we are genuinely sorry for the disruption and stress it causes as you work to find childcare arrangements.”
The Children’s Nest Board said it is working to determine next steps and hopes the closure will not be permanent. “We are actively exploring every possible option to move forward and will let you know as soon as we have more information to share,” the message stated.
The center also thanked families for their trust and support during what it called “an unexpected situation.”
Parents with questions were encouraged to contact the center directly at 515-681-6331.
