(Oakland, IA) — Audubon heads to Riverside tonight for a Western Iowa Conference volleyball match-up, coverage on KSOM.
The Bulldogs are ranked #7 in Class 2A and are 18-0 to start. They have won tournaments at AHSTW, Missouri Valley, and Griswold. They swept Logan Magnolia on Tuesday 25-22, 25-14 and 25-14. There is no one dominant hitter on the squad with Junior Sydney Somers leading the team in kills with 93, Junior Lilli Reed has 83, Senior Bentley Rone 74 kills, Sophomore Vivian Gross 52 kills, Sophomore Arabella Singleton 49 kills, and Senior Madison Kelley 48 kills. Head Coach Brooke Flathers loves the balance
Audubon is led by Senior Harlow Miller with around 100 kills and has tremendous power. Flathers knows that blocking her is not easy but Gross has 24 blocks, Madison Kelley 15 blocks, Reed 11 blocks and Somers and Rone each have 10 so they should be in position to do the job
The Wheelers are coming off a 3 set loss to Underwood. Audubon will need to be on top of their game and limit the hitting errors against the Bulldogs. Coach Chris Derry says it comes down to working together
Derry knows that Riverside has a strong hitting game and the Wheelers only have around 20 blocks on the season so he needs his players at the net to be on the ball tonight
Audubon is 6-5, Riverside 18-0, first serve at 7:30 tonight, coverage on KSOM.
