(Greenfield, IA) — Its Homecoming week for Nodaway Valley and the atmosphere with the athletic teams are a lot better than they were a year ago. In 2024, both the football and volleyball teams went winless but its a different story in 2025.
The Volleyball team got their first win of the season on August 30th and are a solid 7-12 so far — the Wolverines went 1-2 at the Chariton tournament this past Saturday. Senior Emma Boswell leads the team in kills with 89. Senior Kylie Nelson is 2nd on the team with 57 kills plus leads the team with 22 blocks. She says the attitude with the team is so much more positive
Nodaway Valley did have Allison Kiburz return as the team’s Head Coach. Senior Izzy Eisbach has 26 kills, 55 digs, and leads the team with 15 aces and she says the biggest emphasis with Kiburz is communication

On the football side, the Wolverines lost to AC/GC 54-0 last Friday but the previous week, they erased a 26 game losing streak by beating Central Decatur 33-18. Senior Defensive Lineman Bennett Brown says it was a big moment
Senior Wide Receiver and Defensive Back Keyin Steeve has 7 catches for 66 yards and he says the defense has done a much better job
