(Harlan) The Harlan football team is looking to right the ship Friday in a non-conference showdown with Lewis Central. The Cyclones are 0-2, Lewis Central is 0-2. The Cyclones are coming off a tough 17-12 loss to a solid Glenwood squad.
Harlan Head Coach Todd Bladt says the team showed a lot of improvement. He said Just not quite enough.
The Cyclone’s passing attack has been the main threat, with over 400 yards passing. Bladt says it comes down to spreading out the carries.
The Cyclones host Lewis Central in a non-conference rivalry game tonight. Coach Bladt describes Lewis Central as big and physical, and plays hard in the losses to two tough opponents, North Polk and Sergeant Bluff-Luton.
Lewis Central running back Braydan Doss has rushed for 180 yards and averages 8.2 yards per carry.
The Cyclones have some players who are starting to come to the forefront. Coach Bladt mentions the likes of Dallas McDowell and quarterback Gabe Arkfeld.
The kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. at Merrill Field in Harlan.
