(Shelby Co.) Two people charged in connection with the death of an Earling woman have pleaded not guilty.
Winston “Joe” Leal faces a charge of First-Degree Murder in the death of 32-year-old Theresa Kenkel. Ashley McWilliams has been charged with Accessory After the Fact.
Both defendants are scheduled to appear in court for hearings on September 29 at 9 a.m.
The charges stem from an incident on Thursday, July 31, when the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check at 204 2nd Avenue in Earling. Deputies entered the residence and discovered Kenkel deceased inside.
