(Le Mars, IA) — The Harlan Girls Cross Country are now 3 for 3 — 3 meets and 3 victories. The Cyclones won the Gary Meyer Invitational on Tuesday night, winning by 100 points over the Lady Dutch of MOC Floyd Valley 69 to 80. Ashlyn Rau led the way with a 2nd place finish at 19:05.9 finishing behind Natalie Anderson of MOC with a time of 18:42.5. Julia Heslink (19:47.3) finished 4th and Aspen Bieker finished 17th (21:27.0). Harlan’s depth got them in front of the Dutch with Ava Freund in 25th, Allie Anderson 28th, Josie Sonderman 30th and Sadie Alberti in 43rd.
On the boys side, Harlan finished in 7th place out of 13 teams. Jeffrey Gross had the best finish in 5th (16:49.0) while Erik Heslink was 17th (17:45.2). Other finishers for the Cyclones: Brogan Schechinger 31st, Nathan Sandquist 66th, Kobe Kimmen 74th and Kirk Hol 87th. Kuma Gutema of Sioux City North was the individual winner with a time of 16:12.5 and led the Stars to the team title.
