(Red Oak) The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office cited a driver for failure to maintain control stemming from a previous accident.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a call on September 4 about damaged roadway signs at the intersection of Union Avenue and 240th Street. During the investigation, authorities determined that a 1996 Ford F-150 belonging to 58-year-old Charles Samuel Williams, of Villisca, was responsible for striking the signs.
Williams told Authorities that on September 1 at around 9:30 a.m., he was southbound on Union Avenue, observed a coyote in the ditch, stopped, backed up, lost control of the pickup, entered the ditch, and struck the two roadway signs.
Deputies cited Williams for failure to maintain control.
The Montgomery County Secondary Roads Department estimates the damage at $1,000.
