(Lincoln, NE) — After a season opening 20-17 win over Cincinnati, Nebraska will host Akron this Saturday in their home opener. Huskers Head Coach Matt Rhule expected a tough game against the Bearcats and he got one. Sophomore QB Dylan Raiola was 33-42 passing for 243 yards and 2 TD. Nebraska and Akron have met just once in their history back in 1997. The two teams were scheduled to play in 2018 but the game was cancelled because of severe thunderstorms. The Zips lost to Wyoming in their opener 10-0 — Akron Head Coach Joe Morehead coached against Rhule when Morehead was the coach at Fordham and Ruhle was at Temple and Fordham won a hail mary play. The game is Saturday night and Rhule is excited to be in Lincoln
Nebraska (1-0) hosts Akron (0-1), kickoff Saturday night is at 6:30 pm, it will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
