(Atlantic) Atlantic Head Football Coach Joe Brummer says it is back to the basics this week in preparation for a week 2 matchup with Denison-Schleswig. The Trojans fell short to Glenwood last week, 32-7.
Despite the losses last week, Coach Brummer saw some positive things. The Trojans had some success with running the football around the edge. He also mentioned a couple of defenders who stepped up.
Next up for the Trojans is Denison-Schleswig. Last week, the Monarchs fell short to Storm Lake 39-13. Coach Brummer says the Monarchs’ offense is like the Trojans.
Last week, Monarchs quarterback Blaine Grady completed 5-11 passes for 63 yards. The senior QB carried the ball six times for 11 yards. Coach Brummer describes Grady as a good athlete.
The Trojans are also preparing for two capable running backs in Cole Kastner and Jackson Graeve. Last week, Kastner carried the ball 14 times for 91 yards and one touchdown. Jackson Graeve had 13 carries for 54 yards.
