(Harlan) Harlan looks to get back on track after falling short to Underwood in the opener, 33-29. Head Coach Todd Bladt recognized Underwood as a good football team. Bladt says they made several mistakes, and the Eagles capitalized on those mistakes. Harlan is at home this week against Glenwood.
The Cyclone’s passing game is alive and well. Underwood jumped out to a 20-0 lead, and Harlan responded with an aerial game, rallying back. Senior quarterback Gabe Arkfeld was 17-29 passing for 312 yards and three touchdowns. Landon Nihsen caught two passes for 92 yards, and Hagen Sorensen snagged four passes for 72 yards. Coach Bladt complimented Arkfeld’s leadership.
The Cyclones now turn their attention to Glenwood, which rolled past Atlantic 32-7 last week. Coach Bladt noted the Rams’ strength in forcing turnovers.
The Cyclones have dominated the series, having won five straight, eight of the last ten, and 17 out of the previous 19 games. The kick-off is at 7:00 p.m. at Merrill Field in Harlan.
