(Atlantic) The American Legion Post #43 is hosting a Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Atlantic City Park on September 11 at 9:00 a.m.
Leonard Kinney, American Legion Commander, says the program will honor first responders and military veterans. “Never Forget” is the theme of the ceremony.
The ceremony will begin with the presentation of the colors, an invocation, and the remembrance program. The program will reflect on what happened that tragic day of September 11, 2001, as well as the lives lost on that fateful day.
The September 11, 2001, attacks, also known as 9/11, were suicide attacks by al-Qaeda against the United States. Nineteen terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners, crashing the first two into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, and the third into the Pentagon, the headquarters for the U.S. Department of Defense, in Arlington, Virginia. The fourth plane crashed in a rural Pennsylvania field during a passenger revolt.
