(Adair Co) The Adair County Board of Supervisors held another discussion this morning on sharing a County Engineer with Adams County.
Adair County Engineer Nick Kauffman said he was contacted a couple of weeks ago by the Adams County Supervisors Chairman, who asked him to look into the possibility of sharing services. Kauffman explained that if his time were split 50/50, the salary would also be divided equally. Adair County would provide a vehicle and collect the mileage.
Supervisor Matt Wedemeyer said that as long as this arrangement is temporary and Adams County continues searching for an Engineer, he is okay with it, as he does not want Adams County to lose out on any funding.
Adams County officials said they are still searching for a full-time Engineer.
Supervisor Jodie Hoadley had concerns about sharing equipment, but it was made clear by Kauffman and Adams County officials that there were no plans to share or move any maintenance equipment between the counties.
The Supervisors agreed to have a draft 28E Agreement drawn up to review next week.
