(Des Moines) State Treasurer Roby Smith announced a statewide initiative for College Savings Month this September! Five Iowa students will each receive a $1,000 contribution to an ISave 529 account, and in addition, each winner will select a K-12 school to receive an extra $1,000 donation.
“Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, guardian, fun aunt, or cool neighbor, anyone can register a child to help jump-start their savings for future educational needs,” Treasurer Smith emphasized. “Iowans from Larchwood to Keokuk and everywhere in between should visit Iowa529Contest.com throughout September to register a child in their life. These winners won’t just positively impact the child’s future, but they will also support a school of their choice.”
Now through September 30, Iowans can register for a chance to win a $1,000 contribution to an ISave 529 account and an additional $1,000 for a K-12 school at Iowa529Contest.com. It takes only about 60 seconds to enter and provide the gift of education to a child.
