(Atlantic) Tonight, the Red Oak Tigers face off against Atlantic in a Hawkeye Ten Conference Volleyball match.
The Tigers enter the game with a record of 5-1, having lost their season opener to Pella (21-19, 21-12) but subsequently winning five consecutive matches against Winterset, Roland Story, North Polk, Ames, and Bondurant-Farrar.
They are led by first-team all-conference player Jocelyn O’Neal. As a team, the Tigers have a hitting percentage of .314, with standout performances from Karley Jenkins (.431), Jocelyn O’Neal (.410), Natalie Johnson (.310), and Emily Sebeniecher (.308). Sebeniecher also leads the team in digs with 44, and they boast a serving efficiency of 90%.
On the other side, Atlantic has a record of 5-2. The Trojans began the season by defeating Nodaway Valley in a non-conference match, winning in three sets. They then competed in the AHSTW Tournament, finishing with a 4-2 record. During the tournament, they secured victories against CAM, Earlham, AHSTW, and MVAOCOU, but lost to Riverside and East Mills.
The Trojans have a hitting percentage of .172, with Jillian Saathoff leading at .317, followed by Reece Harlan (.207) and Jayci Reed (.200). Harlan has recorded 43 kills, Reed has 28, Saathoff has 23, and Adler Bruce has 16. Taylee Hagen leads the team in digs with 51, and they have a serving efficiency of 81.9%.
