(Griswold, IA) — After a season opening loss that slipped through the Tigers’ paws, Griswold rebounded last Friday with a 28-20 win over Stanton-Essex. Dain Laverty had 5 receptions for over a hundred yards and 2 TD — Head Coach Seth Lembke says he would like to throw it to Laverty even more but first he needs to see improved play on the offensive line
Last year in their first two games, Griswold gave up 49 points to Boyer Valley and 58 to CAM — this year the competition is not quite as good but it is still better — 34 to East Mills and 20 to Stanton. Lembke believes there is an improvement
This week, the competition will be ramped up as Griswold hosts Audubon who crushed Remsen St. Mary’s 64-12 on Friday. Lembke says its time to face a tough team and embraces the challenge
