(Atlantic) Area residents will have a unique opportunity to connect with their local government representatives while enjoying a fun evening at the farmer’s market. The event will feature “Local Government BINGO,” live music, food trucks, and family-friendly activities on Thursday, September 4, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Produce in the Park.
Visitors can meet representatives from a wide range of local offices, including the City Council, Mayor, County Board of Supervisors, County Assessor, County Treasurer, County Recorder, Atlantic Parks Commission, County Conservation Board, Planning & Zoning, Board of Adjustments, the County Local Food Policy Council, and the Atlantic School Board. Community members will have the chance to ask questions and learn more about how local government works.
A highlight of the evening will be Local Government BINGO. Participants who complete their BINGO card will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Farmers’ Market gift card (for ages 18+). Kids can take part in a special version of BINGO just for them.
Additionally, there is a Bounce House, as well as a wide selection of vendors offering fresh produce, local meats, farm-fresh eggs, honey, baked goods, flowers, handmade crafts, soaps, plants, and more, including food trucks and music by Sarah Selders.
Community organizations and businesses will also be on hand, including the Atlantic Public Library, Cass Health, Healthy Cass County, and Cass County Tourism.
This month’s event is made possible through the support of sponsors, including Rush CPA, Gregg Young Chevrolet of Atlantic, City of Atlantic, 1st Whitney Bank, Cass Health, Cass County Tourism, Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Nishna Valley Family YMCA.
