(Audubon, IA) — Volleyball teams better not fall asleep when they play Audubon this season. Despite going 8-22 last year, the Wheelers have a lot of talent coming back plus two new starters as well. Molly Lange is back as the team’s head coach but may not stay on the bench for all the games this season — she is due to give birth to a new child in the week of Audubon’s opener. Assistant Chris Derry is originally from Audubon and has head coaching experience in South Dakota and will run the team when Lange is away.
Audubon will be led by Senior Harlow Miller who pumped 350 kills a year ago and Lange says she is poised for a big season
Junior Riley Miller played with Exira EHK last season but will suit up for the Wheelers this season and is extremely versatile — Lange says she will line up on the right side to start the year. Senior Anna Larsen will be the setter with 496 assists in 2024. Coach Derry’s daughter is Maddie Derry a Junior who will become an instant starter
Senior Kadence Brannan Sporrer is a returning starter with 93 kills, 284 digs and 24 aces. Lange says she has depth as well that this team can improve significantly from last year
