(NAFB) For the second year in a row, Pro Farmer Scouts have found a record corn yield. The final report released on profarmer.com on Friday projects a national average yield of 182.7 bushels per acre, or about a half-percent increase over last year’s record projection. Eastern Tour Leg Leader Lane Akre says the final state was the star.
He adds that it’s important to remember the projections are a snapshot in time, and as far as overall impressions from the Crop Tour go.
The national soybean yield projection is 53 bushels per acre, down one point nine BPA from 2024 or three-and-a-half percent. Total production estimated by Pro Farmer is 16 billion bushels of corn and 4.26 billion bushels of soybeans. Mike Zuzolo of Global Commodity Analytics talked about the impact on crop prices.
Which it did not, so the question is, does the market notice? Zuzolo also noted the crop appears to be getting smaller as the disease that the Crop Tour found continues to take its toll.
