(Des Moines, Iowa) — Drivers across Iowa are getting a modest break at the gas pump this week. According to AAA, the average price for regular unleaded gasoline has dropped by 3 cents, bringing the statewide average to $2.89 per gallon.
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose 33 cents to $62.71 per barrel. Brent crude climbed 83 cents to $66.26 per barrel. For comparison, a year ago. WTI was $75.27, and Brent stood at $78.85
Regular Unleaded (Iowa): $2.89/gallon — down 3 cents from last week and 31 cents cheaper than this time last year. National Average: $3.13/gallon — also down 3 cents. Diesel (Iowa): $3.51/gallon — down 5 cents from last week, nearly identical to last year’s average of $3.52, and 19 cents lower than the current U.S. average of $3.70.
Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices: U87-E10: $1.97, Unleaded 87 (Clear): $2.26, ULSD #2: $2.37, ULSD #1: $2.68, and E-70: $1.91.
Natural Gas prices at the Henry Hub dipped 6 cents, now at $2.76 per MMbtu. Retail prices for heating oil and propane will return with seasonal updates in October.
