(Griswold, IA) — Griswold gets their football season underway tonight as they host the Wolverines of East Mills. The Tigers are coming off a 3-6 season and lose starting quarterback Bode Wyman so Head Coach Seth Lembke will turn to Senior Wyatt Silk who is still developing his passing game says Lembke and might be run oriented at least to start. Wyman threw a good ball but Silk has more speed which will change the Tigers approach a little. At receiver, Juniors Cavyn Turner and Dain Laverty and Sophomores Callen Keiser and Colton Frieze will compete for catches. Lembke is still looking for a number one running back
Lembke has some experience on both the offensive and defensive line and is led by Senior RJ Dishong who provides tons of leadership
East Mills was 5-4 last season but — like Griswold — they lost a lot to graduation. The Wolverines will have a new quarterback, running back, new receivers — East Mills lost their leading tackler Jackson Embree who had 91 tackles and 16 for loss. Lembke says they still have some good athletes
Both teams are playing in Week Zero after getting a bye week in their schedule this season.
