(Elk Horn, IA) — Last season produced a Rolling Valley Conference regular season championship for Exira EHK Volleyball and a 15-6 record and the Spartans have plenty of talent back to make a run at it this year.
Exira EHK will be led by the Petersens — Junior Taryn had 169 kills, 161 digs, 15 blocks and 48 aces while Senior Jaelynn led the team with 214 kills and 43 blocks plus had 131 digs and 35 aces. Head Coach Derek Reischauer
Sophomore Brylie Petersen is out for volleyball this fall — the threesome are cousins — and Brylie will play on the front row. The Spartans did lose starter Riley Miller who will suit up for Audubon this year — she had shared the setter roll with Junior Brooklyn Flathers (232 assists) but without Miller, Reischauer is still debating which formation he will use
Reischauer also is trying to figure out his defensive system — Mayne Jorgensen graduated and played a lot on the back row and Reischauer believes that will be the key to his team’s season
Exira EHK will open their season on Thursday, August 28 at Lenox.
