(NAFB) Shocking results when it comes to the Illinois corn crop as observed by Pro Farmer Scouts on Day Three of Crop Tour.
Pro Farmer Eastern Leg Tour Leader Lane Akre says they are projecting the Corn Final Yield at 196.19 bushels per acre.
Soybeans, Akre adds, were a little more positive with pod counts in a three-by-three square, up 4.2 percent vs last year and 12.6 percent higher than the three-year average. It was a little different story on the Western Leg through Western Iowa as the corn final yield projections in Crop Reporting Districts 1, 4, and 7 all set new records.
McKenzie Halligan is in her third year of scouting from NE Iowa and says she has disease concerns which could affect the final outcomes.
Final Iowa yield results will be released Thursday evening as both tour legs meet up in Rochester, Minnesota, with National Average Corn and Soybean Yield Projections to be totaled up on Friday.
