(Madison County, IA) — Kylie Barber will serve as the new Madison County treasurer. Barber served as acting treasurer since last February, before the county’s Board of Supervisors announced her full-time promotion yesterday. This was due to a criminal investigation into former treasurer Amanda DeVos, who was arrested last December for multiple criminal charges related to misconduct in her position. DeVos resigned last month and has continued to deny any wrongdoing. Barber says she hopes to restore residents’ faith in the treasurer’s office.
