(Guthrie Center, IA) — The sidewalks around the Guthrie County Courthouse and the War Memorial badly need some repairs. Brandon Thompson, Head of Facilities in Guthrie County, reported to the Supervisors at Tuesday’s meeting that the sidewalks around the courthouse and law enforcement center need to be fixed.
In addition, the American Legion would like to do some expansion work around the War Memorial and Thompson says while they are two different projects, it was easier to get a bid from one company for both. The total cost is $12,550 — the American Legion will cover $2850 for the War Memorial costs while the county will be on the hook for the $9700. Board Chair Maggie Armstrong says the repairs are needed especially when winter arrives
The Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to approve the repairs.
