(Pottawattamie Co) During the public comment section of Tuesday’s Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors meeting, Mark Shoemaker, who retired as Executive Director of Pottawattamie County Conservation in 2024, addressed the board about the current culture within the county.
Shoemaker said that today, you can go to almost any department and find that they are back in their silos.
Shoemaker said that when asked about his favorite and least favorite parts of his job when he was with the Conservation Department, his favorite—hands down—was building an incredible team that cares about the county and its people. His least favorite was the politics.
