(Atlantic) Dave Sturm of Snyder and Associates shared progress reports this week on several ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects around the city.
Downtown Improvements:
Sturm said milling work downtown has gone smoothly and is expected to be completed by Tuesday. Once milling is finished, all roads will reopen to traffic until asphalt work begins. As of now, paving is scheduled to start Monday, August 25. Sturm noted he will provide another update later this week to confirm the schedule.
West 22nd Street:
Contractors plan to close West 22nd Street from Palm Street to Highway 6 beginning Wednesday. Milling will begin immediately, followed by grading work. Sturm said this section of roadway will remain closed for several weeks while the project is underway.
Commerce/State Street:
Work is also expected to begin soon on Commerce and State Street. Sturm reported that crews plan to start milling on Chestnut Street this Thursday morning. This phase of the project will extend from the curve at Commerce Street, north to the Schildberg Quarry parking lot.
