(Atlantic) — Justin Williams, of Atlantic, an Atlantic High School graduate and former educator with the Atlantic Community School District, announced Thursday that he will run for a seat on the Atlantic School Board. Williams told KSOM/KS95 News he has been considering the move for quite some time. Currently serving as an online learning coordinator and industrial arts teacher in the Red Oak Community School District, Williams says his two decades of experience in education would allow him to bring a great deal to the table.
One of the priorities centered on William’s platform is to restore transparency and trust within the district.
Williams says they aim to be a strong voice for all students and staff, advocating for their needs and ensuring their perspectives are heard.
According to Justin Williams’ bio on social media, he has called Atlantic his home for the last 35 years. He is the founder of the Atlantic Soccer Association and played a crucial role in helping over 100 at-risk students graduate from the CCEOC program. His dedication was recognized when he was named Teacher of the Year in Atlantic in 2019.
The first day to file papers for the City and School Elections is August 25. The last day to file candidate nomination papers for the November 4 election is September 18, 2025, at 5 p.m.
