(Audubon County) — Dreher Angus Farm has a knack for raising giants. Randy and Crystal Dreher, of Audubon County, representing six generations in the seedstock industry, earned fourth place in the 2025 Iowa State Fair Super Bull Competition. Their bull, Albert, was born in 2019 on the family farm and served a variety of purposes before training began for the 2024 competition, where he placed third. This year, Albert returned to the ring and weighed in at a hefty 2,690 pounds.
Randy Dreher says the experience is more than just trying to win.
The tradition is clearly making an impression on the next generation, as the Dreher’s young children are already taking an interest in the family’s prize-winning legacy.
The Dreher family is no stranger to the top five, finishing as runner-up in 2021 and claiming the title in 2022 with a bull tipping the scales at 3,042 pounds.
