(Des Moines) — Audubon County Fair Queen Emily Foran was honored with the Queen Alumni Award during the Iowa State Fair Queen competition on August 9.
The award recognizes an innovative thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit who demonstrates creativity and inspires others in her community to embrace opportunities. It is presented in memory of Julie Wolterman, the 1993 Iowa State Fair Queen, who helped coordinate the queen competition for 19 years.
Foran is the daughter of Joseph and Kristin Foran. A longtime 4-H and FFA member, she plans to attend Colorado State University to study business, marketing, and Spanish. She received a $500 scholarship, a plaque from the Iowa State Fair, and a bouquet from Boesen the Florist.
The 2025 Iowa State Fair Queen title went to Riah Schrage of Grundy County. Ashlynn Gunnerson of O’Brien County was first runner-up, Annalise Buxton of Union County placed second runner-up, and Emery Hawkins of Appanoose County took third runner-up. Kelsey Greenslade of Dallas County earned the Outstanding Leadership Award, and Alexandria Ken of Fayette County received the Personality Plus Award.
